Summary:A yellow gold alloy which resembles 10 karat gold in appearance and physical properties but has a gold content substantially less than 10 karat gold. The alloy consists essentially of 11% to 16% by weight gold, 28% to 34% by weight silver, 30% to 38% by weight copper, 8% to 12% by weight palladium, 7% to 10% by weight zinc, 0.2% to 0.4% silicon, and about 0.02% boron, and is particularly well suited for use in the manufacture of rings and other jewelry articles.
