Summary: | A process and kit which are useful in determining whether the concentration of an aldehyde in a sample is in excess of a predetermined concentration. Two reaction systems are employed. The first reaction system acts first in transforming quantitatively to a first reaction product the amount of aldehyde equal to the predetermined concentration. The second reaction system then acts to transform any remaining aldehyde to a second reaction product which is detectable visually. In a preferred embodiment, delay in action of the second reaction system is achieved by formulating a reactant for the second reaction system in tablet form. Such tablets are also described herein. |
