Novel aromatic polyester polyol mixtures made from polyethylene terephthalate residues and alkylene oxides
Mixtures of aromatic polyols containing ester functionalities suitable for use in rigid polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams are described. The mixtures are prepared by reacting a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) residue with an alkylene oxide in the presence of a basic catalyst. These novel poly...

Summary: | Mixtures of aromatic polyols containing ester functionalities suitable for use in rigid polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams are described. The mixtures are prepared by reacting a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) residue with an alkylene oxide in the presence of a basic catalyst. These novel polyol mixtures may be blended with conventional polyols to yield rigid foams with better flammability resistance as compared with foams made from conventional polyols alone. |
