Summary:Softness and bulk are imparted to untextured dry sanitary tissue sheet web by advancing it under ordinary support point tension through the nip of spaced grooved rotary texturing rolls having complementary partially interdigitated texturing ribs acting on both sides of the web with progressive wave-stretch texturing deformation of the web to release the hydrogen bonds between some of the fibers in the network of fibers in the web without breaking the fibers, and while maintaining the elasticity of the web.
