Recovery of domestic oil from spent clay
Spent clay from the bleaching of C18+ domestic glyceride esters ("oils") is deoiled by slurrying such spent clay with aqueous alkali at a temperature of at least about 80 DEG C. and a weight ratio of water to clay of about 2-6:1 at a high "pH window" for such oil recovery.
