Summary:An ironing board comprising an elongated board-like member having a planar upper surface for supporting articles to be ironed and a planar under surface having a plurality of recesses formed therein. A plurality of interconnected supporting strut-like members retractably accommodated in the recesses of the under surface of the board-like member in a manner whereby in one position of the strut-like members they extend away from the board-like member and cooperate with each other to support the board-like member in a horizontal plane spaced above a supporting surface, and in another position of the strut-like members they are retracted into the recesses and present a uniplanar under surface of the board-like member.
