Summary:A grinding apparatus used for feeding a grinding wheel toward the side surface of a workpiece along a spiral pathway. The grinding wheel is rotatably mounted upon a swing arm which is fixedly mounted upon a spindle which is, in turn, operably connected to first and second feeding means. The first feeding means may impart rotational and axial movement to the swing arm, while the second feeding means imparts only an axial movement thereto. Several preferable feed pathways of the grinding wheel may be obtained by appropriately combining the movements which may be obtained from the first and second feeding means.
