Summary:1338195 Vulcanization accelerators BAYER AG AND DEUTSCHE GOLDUND SILBERSCHEIDEANSTALT 24 Feb 1972 [26 Feb 1971] 8613/72 Heading C3E A rubber vulcanization accelerator composition comprises (a) a 1,3,5-triazine disulphide of formula wherein one of the radicals R 1 to R 4 is a hydrogen atom and the others are straight or branched chain C 1 to C 4 -alkyl groups and (b) a mercapto type accelerator. Component (c), a thiuramic accelerator, is optionally present. Examples are given in which natural rubber of butadienestyrene rubber formulations are compounded using a combination of (a) bis-(2-ethylamino-4- diethylamino-triazin-6-yl) disulphide, (b) dibenzothiazyl disulphide or 2-mercaptobenzothiazole and optionally c) tetramethyl thiuram disulphide.
