Summary: | In a machine tool with an automatic tool changing apparatus, a spindle is provided which includes a projection at one end thereof and a drawing device therein for clamping the tool thereon. A tool magazine is provided for storing diverse tools, each of the diverse tools having a projection at the periphery thereof, and a tool transfer means is provided for transferring tools between the spindle and the tool magazine. Control means are provided for rotating the spindle through at least one revolution when a succeeding tool is inserted into the spindle by the tool transfer means, so as to abut the projection of the spindle on the projection of the tool, and for causing the drawing device to clamp the succeeding tool on the spindle after completing the rotation of the spindle through its one round. |
