Summary: | An apparatus for varying the intensity of electromagnetic radiation, having a soure of polarized electromagnetic radiation, a cavity for receiving the radiation from the source and reflecting said radiation in the cavity, and means associated with the cavity for adjustably varying the angular rotation of the electromagnetic radiation in the cavity and thereby varying the intensity of the radiation. The invention also provides a method of varying the intensity of a beam of polarized electromagnetic radiation by varying the angular rotation in the plane of polarization of said radiation. |
