Summary:1,257,214. Triazines. J. M. D. ARONSAMUEL, and J. J. STERNE. 24 Jan., 1969 [8 Feb., 1968; 8 May, 1968; 31 Dec., 1968], No. 4198/69. Heading C2C. Compounds of the general formula (R=H, alkyl, methylenedioxyphenyl, cycloalkyl, Ph optionally having 1-3 substituents selected from halogen, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy; R1, R2 = H,alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, dialkylaminoalkyl, piperidinoalkyl, morpholinoalkyl or (when R is not cycloalkyl) perhydroazepinoalkyl, one of R1, R2 being other than H, alkyl when the other is H, alkyl or NR1R2 = heterocyclic ring optionally C-alkyl substituted including, as second heteroatom, N carrying alkyl, alkenyl, hydroxyalkyl, Ph optionally substituted) and their acid addition salts are prepared by reacting RCH(OH)COOH or reactive derivative thereof with a compound of the formula optionally followed by salt formation. The diguanide starting materials are prepared by reacting a hydrohalide of R1R2NH with cyanoguanidine. The above compounds are anxiolytics, antidepressants, stimulants, antihallucinatory agents, antitremorine agents and cardiorespiratory stimulants, and may be administered in the 'form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier.
