Summary: | 1283644 Polyester-based moulding composition FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 9 July 1970 [10 July 1969] 33378/70 Heading C3R A thermoplastic moulding composition comprises a linear saturated polyester of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and optionally up to 10% by wt. of an aliphatic diacid or a hydroxycarboxylic acid with a saturated aliphatic or cycloaliphatic diol, e.g. polyethylene terephthalate, and an alkali metal salt of a phosphonic acid RPO(OH) 2 , a phosphonic halfester RPO(OR1)(OH), a phosphinic acid R 2 PO(OH) or a phosphonous acid RP(OH) 2 where R and R1 are hydrocarbon radicals of up to 15 carbon atoms, the additive comprising 0À005 to 5 wt. per cent relative to the polyester. The use of the disodium salt of n-hexyl phosphonic acid and the sodium salt of diphenyl phosphinic acid is described in Examples 1 and 2. Paraffin or other wax may be used as a coating on granules of the composition to exclude moisture. |
