A fluid fuel burner comprises a plurality of tubular modules arranged side-by-side in a fuel chamber 16 defined by a surround 17 and having a bottom wall formed by joints between surfaces 11 on the modules, the tops of the modules being separated by projections 14 to form fuel outlet passages. In use, fuel is fed to the chamber 16 via a pipe 19 and a channel 18, and air is fed through the modules 10. The modules are of polygonal cross-section and the projections 14 may comprise studs or corrugations, or the outlet surfaces 12 may be concave in crosssection, the projections 14 then being formed by the corners of the modules.
