Summary: | Mouldings of cured organopolysiloxane elastomers that have become merely translucent owing to surface irregularities are rendered transparent by coating them with a mixture of (1) a polysiloxane CH2=CHR2SiO(R nSiR2CH=CH2, wherein R and R' are Ph or Me (at least 80 mol-% Me) of viscosity is not 500 cSt./25 deg.C; (2) 5 to 50 wt.% (1) + (2) of a copolymer of siloxane units SiO2, (Ch3)3SiOo.5, with 1.5 to 3.5% vinyl groups with respect to (2) being present and the ratio of all (Ch3)3SiOo.5 and (Ch3)2CH2= CHSiOo.5 groups to SiO2 units being 0.6:1 to 1:1; (3) a siloxane that is compatible with (1) and (2), contains 0.1 to 1.7 weight-% of H atoms bound to Si and in which the remaining valencies of the Si atoms are saturated by phenyl or methyl residues, with at least two H atoms bound to Si atoms being present and the Si atoms carrying H atoms having methyl residues bound to them. |
