Summary:1,094,055. Endless conveyers. KNAPSACK A.G. June 24, 1965 [June 27, 1964], No. 26801/65. Heading B8A. [Also in Division F4] In apparatus of the type disclosed in Specification 885,633 for feeding a travelling grate or sinter band 1, the feed belt 2 suspended from a frame 5 is oscillated about a bearing 3 and an arcuate rail 7 by a cable 15 driven by an electric motor electromagnetically coupled to a reversing gear unit and controlled by limit switches 10 associated with the rail, said switches being associated also with time relays to control terminal dwell times. The cable is secured by damping springs 16 to an arm 13 of the frame 5 and the belt is vertically adjustable in slots on said frame and about a horizontal pivot 4 to vary the depth of material on the grate. Overriding switches 11 beyond the limit switches 10 operate if the latter fail, to switch off the reciprocating drive of the belt and to actuate an alarm.
