Summary: | Gaseous formaldehyde together with an inert medium comprising a vapour of an inert organic solvent and/or an aerosol of an inert organic solvent is passed through a feed system, the inert medium having a temperature of +70 to +160 DEG C., the mixing ratio of weight between formaldehyde and inert medium being in the range of 1:0.7 to 1:2 and polymerizing the formaldehyde in the polymerization medium at 0 DEG to +90 DEG C. Specified inert media are cyclohexane, was benzine fraction, and a hydrocarbon mixture of 12 to 18 carbon atoms, toluene, benzene, chlorobenzene, ethylacetate, diisopropyl ether, formaldehyde dibenzyl acetal and many others. Specification 943,177 is referred to. |
