Summary: | 1,078,295. Cine cameras. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Oct. 29, 1964 [Oct. 30, 1963], No.44207/64. Heading G2E. A self-threading cine camera has a film chute which is pivotable to a first holding position "H" in which it engages and releasably holds take-up spool 12 against rotation by the drive motor through a slipping clutch while directing film into a slot in the spool hub, a second threading position "T" in which it releases the spool 12 for driven rotation to wind the film on to the hub, and a third inoperative position 'T' in which the motor is stopped. The chute comprises guides 26, 28 extending from a bracket 24 pivoted at pin 34 and urged anticlockwise by spring 32, guide 28 having a lip 40 to engage the slot in the spool hub. Handle 80 is used to manually shift sliding lever 48, mounted as in Fig. 4 (not shown), to move the chute into its threading position by means of spring 44 in a plastics tube 50 connecting arm 46 on lever 48 to arm 42 on bracket 24. Lever (48) is connected to the camera release button through a sliding rod (70) as in Fig. 5 (not shown), whereby when lever (48) is moved to the right against spring (62) the motor operates. Pointer 74 indicates the positions "I#, "H", "T#, in which lever 48 is held by detent means. , In a modification, lever 48 is eliminated and the film chute has an elongated arm (71) as a Fig. 7 (not shown) with a handle (73) for movement to the three positions. |
