Summary:994,687. Bowl mills. COMBUSTION ENGINEERING Inc. Feb. 11, 1964 [March 26, 1963], No. 5625/64. Heading B2A. The grinding ring 40 of a bowl mill comprises a plurality of segments 70 each being a one-piece unmachined cast construction and having grooves 50, 54 on its peripheral surfaces which are secured to the bowl by retaining rings 52, 56 respectively and each having an upstanding rib 62. The ring 52 is made of a malleable material so that it will conform to any irregularities on the surfaces of the grooves 50 and is held in position by means of hub cone 42 which is secured to the bowl by screws 46. The ring 56 is pressed down upon groove 54 by means of screws 58. The rings 52, 56 are each made of several separable parts. Each segment 70 has a recess 60. The bowl is provided with an extension ring 64. The material to be pulverized is fed through inlet 28. Air flows through annular space 31 to convey the ground material into a classifier 34.
