Summary: | 850,818. Paper coated with wax, asphalt etc.; carbon paper &c. MINNESOTA MINING & MANUFACTURING CO. Jan. 3, 1957 [Jan. 13, 1956], No. 309/57. Class 96. Porous paper, e.g. 0.0012 inch thick, is sized on one side only with a fluorocarbon compound, e.g. a chromium complex of perfluorocaprylic acid, which is repellent to glycerine, oils, and greases, and is coated on the other side, by hot melt, with wax, or asphalt, or a wax and carbon ink composition, e.g. for thin carbon paper, or, e.g. for wrappers or liners, or for laminating. Urea &c. may be included to neutralize hydrochloric acid which is evolved on drying and insolubilizing the chromium complex which may be applied as a 0.2% solution. Asphalt used may have a melting-point of 125 C. Specifications 703,435, 712,784 and 763,673 are referred to. |
