Summary:570,407. Heating-vessels. KOOPERATIVE FORBUNDET FORENING U.P.A. June 11, 1943, Nos. 9409 and 9410. Convention dates, May 28, 1942, and Aug. 18, 1942. [Class 66] [Also in Group VI] Apparatus for extracting fruit juice by means of steam comprises a frame consisting of an annular member 4 having an external projection for supporting it on the rim of a preserving pan 1 and connected by depending bands or rods 3 with a ring 2 or plate 10, for supporting a juice pot 9, a juice filter 6 being supported by an inwardly-directed flange 5 on the member 4 or by the inwardly-bent upper ends 5 of the rods 3. The member 4 is shaped to receive the lid 7 of the pan 1 and is provided with handles 8. The bands or rods 3 may be surrounded by one or more further bands to protect small juice pots. In use, water is boiled in the bottom of the pan and the steam acts upon the fruit on the filter, the juice dropping into the pot 9. When the pan is to be used for bottling fruit, the frame is removed and the usual bottle support inserted. The ring 2, or a central opening in the plate 10, is preferably adapted to pass over the bottle support so that all the parts can be stored in the pan. Alternatively, the perforated plate 10, or a flat perforated plate resting loosely on, or fixed to, the lower end of the frame formed with a ring 2 may be used to support the preserving glasses or bottles and the usual bottle support dispensed with. Clamping means for the bottles may be carried by the rods 3.
