Summary:A liquid hand dishwashing detergent composition includes from about 5% to about 50% by weight of the total composition of a surfactant system. The surfactant system includes anionic surfactant. The anionic surfactant includes alkyl sulfated anionic surfactant and sulfonated anionic surfactant. The anionic surfactant includes at least about 50% by weight of the anionic surfactant of alkyl sulfated anionic surfactant; and the alkyl sulfated anionic surfactant and the alkyl sulfonated anionic surfactant are present in a weight ratio of from about 1:1 to about 8:1. The composition further includes a carboxylic acid and/or a salt thereof; and the composition has a pH of less than about 5.0, measured as an about 10% solution in demineralized water at about 20° C.
