Summary: | Novel therapeutic uses of compounds for enhancing mitochondrial function and treating a mitochondrial disease are discovered by artificial intelligence (AI)-based in silico approaches. Methods of enhancing mitochondrial function and/or treating mitochondrial disease include administering an active compound to a subject in need. The active compound may be one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of preladenant, cinepazide, mitiglinide, deforolimus, mycophenolate-mofetil, megestrol, lercanidipine, fusidic acid, nimodipine, nicardipine, nitrendipine, benidipine, methazolamide, diethylcarbamazine, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. |
