Summary:An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, a transfer member, a density detection device, and a control unit. The image forming unit includes an image carrier, a charging device, an exposing device, and a developing device. The control unit is capable of executing a calibration mode to correct density of a toner image. When the calibration mode is executed, a datum image is formed by the developing device, a developing voltage is adjusted on the basis of density of the datum image detected by the density detection device, and a transfer voltage is adjusted on the basis of the adjusted developing voltage.
