Summary: | A method is provided, including using at least one computer processor, for receiving, during intraoral scanning of an intraoral three-dimensional (3D) surface by an intraoral scanner, a plurality of intraoral scans of the intraoral 3D surface generated by the intraoral scanner, each intraoral scan including an image of a distribution of discrete unconnected spots of light projected on the intraoral 3D surface, registering the plurality of intraoral scans to each other during the intraoral scanning to update a 3D model of the intraoral 3D surface at a rate of 3-100 times per second, and outputting a view of the 3D model of the intraoral 3D surface to a display. Other applications are also described. |
