Summary:An aerosol provision device 702 is disclosed comprising a lid portion 706, a base portion 708 and a securing mechanism 710, wherein the securing mechanism 710 is configured to engage the lid portion 706 with the base portion 708 so as to hold in position, in use, an aerosol generating article so as to prevent relative movement of the aerosol generating article. The lid portion 706 and the base portion 708 are configured to hold the aerosol generating article in position in between the lid portion 706 and the base portion 708.
