Summary:Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications support advanced coding for uplink and downlink transmissions are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, control signaling indicating an erasure encoding pattern information associated with an erasure encoding scheme supported by the UE, and may receive scheduling information that allocates multiple resources on a shared channel for communication with the network entity. The UE and network entity may transmit or receive multiple transport blocks (TBs) and erasure encoded parity information corresponding to the multiple TBs via the multiple resources on the shared channel according to an erasure encoding pattern in accordance with the erasure encoding pattern information.
