The channel can include first and second sides and proximal and distal ends. The channel can include a base extending between the first and second sides and between the proximal and distal ends. The base can include a base floor, a primary reef, and a plurality of reformation reefs. The wave pool can include a wave generator configured to travel through the water contained in the channel for forming a body of wave energy. The body of wave energy can include a primary wave formed along the primary reef and reformation waves formed along reformation reefs.
