Summary:The various implementations described herein include methods and systems for providing a force dimension to interface elements. In one aspect, a method includes (i) communicatively coupling a wearable device that includes electromyography (EMG) sensors with an activatable device that includes a mechanical user interface element; (ii) in accordance with an activation of the user interface element, obtaining data from the EMG sensors that corresponds to the activation; (iii) determining, based on the data from the EMG sensors, whether the activation includes an activation force that meets predefined criteria; (iv) in accordance with a determination that the activation force meets the predefined criteria, causing execution of a first function corresponding to the user interface element; and (v) in accordance with a determination that the activation force meets the predefined criteria, causing execution of a second function corresponding to the user interface element.
