Summary:Disclosed is a device for monitoring, analyzing, and testing data stream transmissions on a radio signal transport (RST) network for compliance with a transmission and receiving standard. The device includes a computer processor, a management network interface card (NIC), and a primary NIC. The primary NIC is used to connect to the RST network, and is controlled by an application programming interface that operates outside of the device's main operating system. Custom software compatible with the API composes and parses data packets in compliance with the standard. Also disclosed is a method for performing monitoring and analysis of data streams transmitted on an RST network. A method for certifying compliance of a device under test with the standard is also disclosed, as is a method to create a simulated network for testing device transmission and reception of data streams modified by simulated channel effects.
