Summary:A work machine control method includes acquiring a captured image of a monitored area around a work machine, causing an overhead image based on the captured image to be displayed in a first display region, and causing at least part of a specific image to be displayed in a second display region. The first display region is a region that is part of a display screen displayed on a display device and that has a shape obtained by cutting out, as a cutout region, a portion of the display screen in a circumferential direction as viewed from an own machine reference position that corresponds to a position of the work machine in plan view. The second display region is a region that is part of the display screen and that is located in the cutout region.
