Summary:The disclosure provides methods of treating a tissue, organ, organoid or organ culture, the method comprising treating a tissue, organ, organoid or organ culture in vitro with a composition comprising one or more cell turnover factors produced by cells exposed to a stress condition. The disclosure also provides methods of increasing regeneration of a tissue in an organ of a subject, the method comprising administering to the subject a composition comprising one or more cell turnover factors produced by cells exposed to a stress condition, wherein the composition is administered to the subject in an amount sufficient to increase regeneration of the tissue relative to a subject that is not treated with the composition.
