Summary:An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming section that forms, with a developer containing toner, a toner image on a recording material; a fixing unit that fixes a toner image formed at the image forming section to a recording material; a recovery unit that recovers waste powder containing toner discharged from the image forming section; and a gas circulation unit in which gas for cooling the vicinity of the image forming section or the vicinity of the fixing unit circulates and that has a portion disposed between the recovery unit and the fixing unit.
