Summary:Embodiments of the disclosure relate to an optical fiber cable. The optical fiber cable includes a cable jacket having an interior surface and an exterior surface. The interior surface defines a central bore extending along a longitudinal axis of the optical fiber cable, and the exterior surface defines an outermost surface of the optical fiber cable. The optical fiber cable also includes a cable core including at least one optical fiber disposed within the central bore of the cable jacket. The cable jacket includes at least one access feature made of a first polymeric material disposed between the interior surface and the exterior surface. The first polymeric material has a first tensile strength (TS1). Each of the at least one access feature is surrounded by a second polymeric material of the cable jacket. The second polymeric material has a second tensile strength (TS2). TS1≤(2/3)*TS2.
