Summary:A household refrigeration appliance has a cooling chamber which can be closed off by a pivotable door. On the door a gyrosensor is arranged which is configured to measure an angular velocity of a pivoting movement of the door and, from this, to determine a pivot angle of the door. A door opening sensor is provided and is configured to detect a closed state of the at least one door. The household refrigeration appliance is configured to establish by use of the door opening sensor whether the associated door is in its closed state, then to establish by use of the gyrosensor of the door whether its angular velocity lies below a predetermined first threshold value and, if both conditions are present simultaneously, to set the pivot angle to zero.
