Summary:A cartridge for an electronic cigarette or a portable inhaler has a rigid reservoir for receiving a liquid. The reservoir has at least one extraction opening which is configured to enable the extraction of liquid from the reservoir. The reservoir has one or more pressure regulation elements in an interior of the reservoir which are arranged in a wall of the reservoir and through which no exit of liquid from the reservoir is possible. The pressure regulation elements are selected independently of one another from the list comprising non-return valves, gas-permeable but liquid-impermeable diaphragms, and deformable wall portions.
