Summary:The invention provides Angelonia plants comprising a recessive amf1-1 allele that confers to the plant a desired flower color, wherein said flower color is of a higher intensity when at least two copies of said allele are present in a plant when compared to the flower color of a plant lacking said at least two alleles and methods for producing a plant produced by crossing such plants with themselves or with another plant, such as a plant of another genotype. The invention further relates to seeds and plants produced by crossing Angelonia plants comprising a recessive amf1-1 allele. The invention further relates to parts of such plants.
