Summary:Apparatuses and methods for determination of available slots for uplink transmission. A method for operating a UE includes receiving a configuration for symbols as uplink (UL), downlink (DL), or flexible (F) and a number of repetitions for transmission of a channel. The method further includes determining an availability of a slot for transmission of a repetition of the channel and a redundancy version (RV) from a set of RVs, starting from a first RV in a set of RVs and sequentially cycling over RVs in the set of RVs. The slot is available when the repetition would not be over a DL symbol. The RV is updated when the slot is available. The RV is not updated when the slot is not available. The method further includes transmitting the repetition of the channel in the slot using the RV when the slot is available.
