Summary:A system and method for residential position localization of a target device is provided. One or more wireless stations (STA) in a wireless network augment a location detection capability of an access point (AP). The method includes transmitting a request for localization information of a target device in a wireless communication network. The method also includes obtaining the localization information from a transmission device in the wireless communication network, the location information including multiple data points. The method also includes determining a score for each of the multiple data points, where the score is based on at least one of: line-of-sight detection or a measurement of a signal quality. The method also includes selecting one or more data points from the localization information based on the determined scores. The method further includes determining a location of the target device based on the selected data points.
