Summary:An imaging device detects a plurality of parts of a subject from a captured image. Head detection, eye detection, and trunk detection are performed and each detection result is acquired. The imaging device performs a process of associating a plurality of acquired detection results. If a head detection region associated with a trunk detection region is already selected as an AF target and the head detection region is not acquired in a next detection process, the imaging device performs a process of determining the trunk detection region associated with the head detection region as the AF target.
