Summary:Provided is an electronic device that performs user authentication by using iris recognition, the electronic device including a camera capturing an eye image of a user, a display, a memory storing one or more instructions, and at least one processor configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the memory, in which the at least one processor is configured to display a guide image on the display, change an attribute of the guide image from a first state to a second state and display the guide image, obtain first iris data from a first eye image of the user corresponding to a guide image having an attribute of the first state, obtain second iris data from a second eye image of the user corresponding to a guide image having an attribute of the second state, and perform user authentication based on the first iris data and the second iris data.
