Summary:The present disclosure provides a cathode active material capable of realizing a secondary battery having a sufficiently high discharge capacity and suppressing a decrease in the discharge capacity retention rate of the secondary battery. The cathode active material (10) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure is provided with particles (1) that contain a lithium composite oxide, anda coating layer (2) that coats the particles (1).
