The blade slider mechanism including: a liner having a longitudinal central channel and a first outer surface and a second outer surface opposite the first surface; a tang portion of the blade configured to ride along the first outer surface; and a slider coupled to the tang and having a portion configured to travel in the central channel of the liner and one or more portions configured to ride along the second outer surface, and wherein the liner is slideably captured between tang and the slider.
