Summary:A recording medium feed apparatus includes a manual feed unit, a first detection unit configured to detect a first size corresponding to a size in a first direction of a recording medium placed on the manual feed unit, a second detection unit configured to detect a second size corresponding to a size in a second direction of the recording medium placed on the manual feed unit, the second direction being different from the first direction, a memory configured to store priority setting information, which is to be preferentially used for the recording medium feed apparatus, and circuitry configured to estimate at least one candidate size of the recording medium based on the first size, the second size, and the priority setting information, and to display the at least one candidate size, on a display, as a candidate size of the recording medium.
