Summary:Disclosed are glass and plastic hybrid ophthalmic lenses and methods of manufacture. The lenses include a first glass layer having a first base curve; a second adhesive layer; and a third plastic layer having a second base curve substantially similar to the first base curve, wherein the concave surface of the first glass layer is laminated to the convex surface of the third plastic layer, and wherein the optical power difference between the first glass layer and the third plastic layer is from 0 to 0.1 Diopter (D).
