Summary:The present invention relates to a method of adversely affecting a biofilm, the method comprising exposing the biofilm to a composition comprising an effective amount of polymer that incorporates within its backbone structure a first polymerised residue of ethylenically unsaturated monomer, said first polymerised monomer residue comprising a covalently bound moiety that (i) presents pendant from the backbone structure, and (ii) comprises a cationic functional group or precursor functional group thereof.
