Summary:A data transmission method includes: establishing, by a server, a connection with a client according to a transmission control protocol (TCP) through a gateway with a synchronous proxy mechanism; acquiring, by the server, sequence number conversion information and converting a first TCP sequence number of a first data packet to be sent to the client according to the sequence number conversion information, so that the first TCP sequence number is matched, by the server, with a first acknowledgment number of the second data packet sent by the client; and sending, by the server, the first data packet, for which the first TCP sequence number has been converted, to the client directly. A server, a gateway, and a computer-readable medium are also disclosed.
