Summary: | A system for facilitating the removal of a prosthetic hip implant from a femur. The explant system has at least one blade coupled to a handle. The shape of the blade conforms to a portion of the implant so that a cutting tip of the blade can be positioned in a desired position relative to the implant and the femur. A plurality of blades can be provided, each blade configured to conform to a different portion of the implant. Force is applied to the handle so that the cutting tip of the blade cuts through bone growth from the femur into the implant, thereby facilitating removal of the implant. |
