Summary:In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for programming of song suggestions for users of a social messaging environment. The system enables a user to add media content, for example a song or music, to a video, for sharing with other users. A media server can provide media content recommendations or suggestions, in response to interactions or conversations with the system or with a social messaging environment. The suggestions can be used to prompt users of social or messaging environments, to create user generated content, thereby increasing the word-of-mouth, or viral distribution and promotion of such media content.
