Summary:The invention relates to a pediculicide formulation based on Eucalyptus globulus essential oil, which is effective on P. humanus capitis, provides ovicidal activity, an effect on the adhesion of the P. humanus egg, a short estimated time of death of the parasite, zero toxicity, and it is impossible for the parasite to become resistant. The formulation is formed by ethanol as a solvent, isopropanol as a vehicle, Eucalyptus globulus essential oil as the active compound, and optionally isopropyl myristate as an emollient, as well as a sufficient quantity of distilled water. The formulation is provided in the form of a hydroalcoholic lotion or as a w/o emulsion if isopropyl myristate is used.
