Summary:A fiber optic encryption method is provided. The method includes transmitting an initial security key to a laser receiver apparatus over an out of band (OOB) signaling channel of a plurality of channels of a laser transmitter apparatus. The OOB signaling channel is secured based on the initial security key resulting in a secure OOB signaling channel. A secure bundle is generated. The secure bundle includes the secure OOB signaling channel and a group of channels and associated transmission frequencies. Data is transmitted via the secure bundle and it is determined if any channels do not transmit the data.
